Details

Jonathan Dichter is the founder of DUIHeroes. He represents people in Snohomish County, King County, Seattle and other areas of the state of Washington. Mr. Dichter focuses his practice on DUI defense, criminal defense and marijuana DUI defense, handling cases involving vehicular assault, vehicular homicide, suspended license, minor DUI, unlawful police stop, hit-and-run, driver's license restoration, reckless driving, minor in possession of alcohol, drug paraphernalia possession in a DUI stop and vehicle impoundment.

In 1999, Mr. Dichter graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He then attended Seattle University School of Law and graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor in 2003. Since that time, Mr. Dichter has earned several certificates of completion upon finishing DUI programs from organizations such as the National College for DUI Defense, La Pier & Associates and Forensic Sobriety Assessment. He is a current member of the faculty of the National College for DUI Defense and the author of  “The DUI Survival Guide,” a book designed to demystify the DUI process for anyone facing DUI charges. He also is the author of the highly sought after DUI manual: "Innovative DUI Trial Tools" from James Publishing, now in its 5th edition.

For nearly 20 years, Mr. Dichter has devoted himself to the defense of DUI-related charges. He knows that a DUI conviction comes with many consequences, including jail time, fines, loss of driving privileges and the installation of an ignition interlock. Just a few of Mr. Dichter's legal successes include a not-guilty verdict for a man who admitted to consuming alcohol, refused to take a breath test and failed field sobriety tests; DUIs negotiated down to reckless driving; and a not-guilty verdict for a client with a previous DUI conviction who refused to take sobriety tests of any kind after a traffic stop.

When he is not working with clients, Mr. Dichter serves as a judge pro tempore for local courts. He is involved with and frequently teaches for several organizations, the National College of DUI Defense and the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Dichter holds a superb Avvo rating of 10.0 in DUI. He is the State Delegate for Washington State to the National College for DUI Defense, and serves on two of their committees. He is frequently sought out by other attorneys for advice and consultation on their cases.

  • I'm Jonathan Dichter and I'm the lead DUI Attorney with the DUI Heroes. We serve clients across the state of Washington. I am, at my core, a storyteller. When I initially meet with my clients, I want to figure out how to tell their story. After years of practicing law, I found myself exclusively doing DUIs. When I start talking to the jury in a trial, my goal is to bring emotions out of them within the first 90 seconds and then I know they'll start to open up and trust me. If you are my client, you are not going to go through this alone. We care for our clients., About Jonathan Dichter | DUI Heroes, DUI, Criminal Defense, 2020

  • NCDD presents Innovative Storytelling for Trial Lawyers, a webinar that will teach you how to bring the narrative storytelling techniques used in theatre and Hollywood to life in a real criminal courtroom in front of a real jury. Part two will cover cross-examination and closing arguments. An actual case (including full trial transcript) is provided to the participants to work through from the inception of the case theme, through the methods Jonathan used to bring his case to trial, and ultimately have his client found not guilty by a jury. Jonathan Dichter practices exclusively in the area of DUI and DUI-related defense and is the author of “Innovative DUI Trial Tools, 4th Revision,” a nationally published DUI strategy guide for lawyers., Teacher, Innovative Storytelling for Trial Lawyers Webinar, National College for DUI Defense, Criminal Defense, 2020
