Kurt D. Bennett

Focusing exclusively on redemption law, Mr. Bennett’s finesse, tenacity and persistence have resulted in the clearing of damaging criminal history for hundreds of people facing all kind of employment, security clearance, international travel, adoption, and education application type issues.  Kurt has successfully obtained remedies for his clients including pardons, vacating convictions, sealing juvenile adjudications, expungements, removal from the duty to register, amending sentencing and probation conditions, etc. He has memberships with various associations such as the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the King County Bar Association and the Washington Defenders Association. 

A well-seasoned senior attorney with more than 25 years of experience, Kurt D. Bennett founded his own law firm Kurt Bennett - The Redemption Lawyer, in Normandy Park, Washington, in 2000. Focusing his practice on criminal law and defense, he covers all matters concerning felonies, misdemeanors, parole, probation, sex offenses and post-conviction proceedings. 

Representing clients ranging from parents to professional athletes, Mr. Bennett has been at the forefront of redemption law. He has served as a pro tem judge for the King County District Court, presiding over thousands of cases at various stages of its proceedings. He strives to help people get a second chance in life by assisting them in acquiring the benefits of maximum rights granted by law and the Constitution. 

Licensed to practice law in Washington, since 1998, Mr. Bennett also appears before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. He completed his bachelor's degree with honors from Purdue University in 1992 and went on to secure his Juris Doctor from the Texas Tech University – School of Law. In addition, he secured a master’s degree in business administration from the Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business.
