As a former U.S. Air Force attorney, Kelsey D. Morfitt is an attorney currently focusing her practice on family law. Graduating magna cum laude in Spanish and political science from Pacific Lutheran University, Ms. Morfitt proceeded to pursue her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law. While at law school, she served as a member of the Gonzaga Law Review and interned at the Office of the Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney, the Washington State Office of the Attorney General Social and Health Services Division and the Chambers of Hon. Robert Whaley in federal district court. Having gained admission to practice law in Washington in 2009, she is also admitted to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.
Before shifting her focus to family law, Ms. Morfitt served as an air force attorney, helping military members in legal matters like wills and estates, divorce and landlord-tenant law, as well as working on prosecuting cases in the military court. She also holds experience in drafting legislation and advising senators on policy issues. Additionally, she is certified to settle cases pretrial in the court and has completed the 40-hour Basic Mediation Training through the Pierce County Center for Dialog & Resolution.
Ms. Morfitt also holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and has experience in drafting legislation and advising senators on policy issues. For her contributions as an air force attorney, she received the Commendation Medal from the U.S. Air Force.
