Alexis Squier

A trained Collaborative divorce lawyer licensed to practice in Washington, Alexis Squier is the founding attorney of the Law Office of Alexis Squier PLLC. She represents clients in a range of dispute resolution options related to marital and premarital relationships, including Collaborative law, mediation, mediation support, and negotiated settlements. 

As a skilled Collaborative Law practitioner and mediator, Ms. Squier is committed to keeping families out of court. Having litigated and negotiated hundreds of divorce cases over the 30 of her practice, she possesses broad experience in difficult parenting cases and in complex property distribution matters, including closely held corporations, stock options, pension/retirement issues, real estate issues, complicated property characterization problems (tracing of separate assets). She also provides client support concentrating on promoting civility and respect during the overwhelming process of divorce.  

Ms. Squier is a consummate professional; she puts the interests of her clients and their families first. She helps her clients prepare for the divorce process by assessing her clients’ priorities and long-term goals, while helping them consider the goals of the other party. For each case, she builds a process strategy that complements the family's needs and circumstances, while maintaining a deep commitment to preserving the children’s interests and the relationship between their co-parents. 

With a bachelor's degree in English literature from the Whitman College, Ms. Squier earned her Juris Doctor from the Seattle University School of Law in 1993. She has received extensive additional legal training, including the intensive 40-hour Professional Mediation Education training from the University of Washington, as well as the 12-hour Collaborative Law training and substantial continuing education required to maintain membership with the Bar and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. 

Active in the legal field, Ms. Squier is a member of the Washington State Bar Association (Family Law Section), the King County Bar Association (Family Law Section, Collaborative Law Section), the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and King County Collaborative Law (KCCL). She has served on Executive Committees of the King County Family Law Section and on the Board of KCCL.
