Isaac Prevost

Isaac Prevost is an attorney at Carney Badley Spellman, P.S., in Seattle, Washington, where he focuses his practice on appellate advocacy and commercial litigation. He represents businesses and individuals in a wide range of disputes involving business, regulatory, real estate and health care matters. He regularly handles appeals, preparing merits briefs and presenting arguments before appellate courts. 

Known for his ability to clearly explain complex legal issues, Mr. Prevost develops persuasive written and oral advocacy that effectively communicates his clients’ positions. He also prepares amicus briefs on behalf of industry groups, nonprofit organizations and health care entities seeking to address important legal issues before appellate courts.

In addition to his appellate work, Mr. Prevost assists clients throughout every stage of the litigation process. He works closely with clients during the early phases of a dispute to evaluate legal risks, identify strategic options and determine whether negotiation or alternative dispute resolution may lead to an efficient resolution. When litigation becomes necessary, he advocates for clients in court and arbitration proceedings, including drafting and arguing dispositive motions. Mr. Prevost also advises clients facing regulatory and administrative matters. He represents corporations and individuals in government investigations and administrative proceedings before agencies such as the Washington State Office of Administrative Hearings, the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner and the Washington State Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals. His experience in these forums allows him to guide clients through complex regulatory processes and work toward effective resolutions, whether through negotiated agreements or formal appeals.

Mr. Prevost earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law, where he served as an articles editor for the Washington Journal of Law, Technology & Arts. He received his Bachelor of Arts in political science, with departmental honors, from the University of Washington. He is admitted to practice in Washington, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is an active member of the Washington State Bar Association and the King County Bar Association, where he serves on several litigation and appellate practice committees.
