Jay Free

Focusing his practice on employment law in Bloom Law PLLC, in Seattle, Washington, attorney Jay Free is dedicated to working for equality and justice in the workplace. With an experience of almost a decade, he has honed a wide variety of experience working with different firms and on myriad number of cases involving employment discrimination, wrongful termination and retaliation. 

Mr. Free completed his bachelor's degree in politics and government (2009) from the University of Puget Sound, where he was also an active part of the Political Science Association and vice president of Students for a Free Tibet. He went on to graduate with high honors with a law degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 2009. 

A dedicated attorney with a robust commitment to advocating for workplace equality and fairness, Mr. Free has a profound understanding of the personal impact of career-related injustices. He is passionate about supporting individuals who have been wrongfully terminated due to discriminatory practices or retaliation in the workplace.

After graduating as a lawyer, Mr. Free has also served as a judicial law clerk extern for the Honorable Judge John C. Coughenour at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and as a public counsel law clerk at the Attorney General’s Office. Having defended the employers for several years, he is adept with the internal workings of companies. 

Mr. Free’s approach to legal battles is characterized by thorough investigation, a technique honed through years of diverse experiences. Prior to his legal education, he spent three years investigating criminal cases at the King County Public Defender’s Office. This investigatory prowess allows him to uncover crucial facts, craft compelling narratives and build strong legal arguments that not only bolster his clients’ positions but also meticulously prepare their cases for trial.  

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Free is committed to community service, notably serving as pro bono legal counsel for Elizabeth Gregory Home, a resource center aiding women experiencing homelessness. This role underscores his dedication to leveraging his legal skills for broader social impact.
