Ms. Kays received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from Seattle University in 1990. She then relocated to Washington, D.C., and worked for Slade Gordon of the U.S. Senate. After a seven-year tenure, she returned to the Pacific Northwest, which she calls home, and attended Seattle University School of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctor cum laude in 2000.
