Mr. Johnson earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montana in 1998. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2003. In that same year, he was admitted to practice law in Montana, later gaining admission to the Washington State Bar Association in 2013. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Johnson holds memberships with several professional organizations, including the Washington State Bar Association and the Montana Bar Association.
