Heather L. Crawford

Heather L. Crawford has been an attorney at the Tacoma, Washington-based Comfort Davies Smith & Crawford P.S. law firm since March 2019. Focusing her practice on estate planning and administration as well as probate litigation and elder law, she provides dedicated representation to clients in the surrounding areas. She also offers legal support for living wills, guardianships and conservatorships, power of attorney and trust-related matters. 

Ms. Crawford is a 1999 cum laude graduate of the Seattle University School of Law, formerly known as the University of Puget Sound Law School, and she has been admitted to practice before all Washington state courts since 2000. Prior to law school, she pursued her undergraduate education at the University of Washington, and in 1993, she was awarded her Bachelor of Arts in economics.

In her estate planning practice, Ms. Crawford reviews and prepares health care and financial powers of attorney, wills, irrevocable and living trusts, and advance medical directives, tailoring each document to the particular needs and objectives of her clients. She has represented trustees and executors in estate administration litigation and other matters, and her probate litigation experience has included will contests and fiduciary duty breaches.  

Ms. Crawford has been appointed as guardian ad litem for people who have become mentally or physically incapacitated and who are accordingly unable to handle their financial and other affairs, and she has qualified as a certified professional guardian. She has also assisted family members of elderly loved ones in matters involving Medicaid planning, and she has helped them explore care alternatives such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities. 

Actively involved in the legal community, Ms. Crawford is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington Association of Professional Guardians and the Robert J. Bryan American Inn of Court. Furthermore, Avvo awarded her a “Superb” rating for her high professionalism and accomplishments.
