Jamie R. Walker
Attorney Profile
Top Rated Family Law Attorney in Tacoma, WA
Jamie R. Walker focuses her practice exclusively on family law matters. Practicing out of Tacoma, Washington, she provides advice and counsel to people throughout the area who are seeing their marriages come to an end and who are thus having to deal with such divorce-related legal issues as the equitable division of complex marital assets and debts, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. Possessing a keen understanding on how stressful and emotional these matters can be to her clients, Ms. Walker sometimes encourages them to seek an accord through such alternative dispute resolution methods as collaborative divorce, mediation, negotiation, and arbitration. However, she is a forceful courtroom advocate, and when necessary she will pursue these issues through litigation.
In addition to her matrimonial practice, Ms. Walker helps her clients obtain a modification to or the enforcement of existing court orders, and she also appears in court seeking protective orders on behalf of victims of domestic violence. Her ethical approach to all of these matters as well as her excellent track record have led to her acceptance as a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers or AAML, and receipt of a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. Ms. Walker is admitted to practice before all Washington state courts.
Majoring in English language writing and literature, Ms. Walker attended Western Washington University as an undergraduate and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2003. Remaining in the state for her legal education, she enrolled at Gonzaga University School of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2007. While she was in law school, she served as a Rule 9 licensed legal intern in the area of family law litigation with a local law firm.
