Details
The founder of Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law, L.C., Jan Dils has spent more than two decades providing caring and professional service to her disability law and personal injury clients. Since opening the firm in 1994, Ms. Dils has concentrated on helping West Virginia residents with the long and sometimes difficult process of obtaining disability benefits through the U.S. Social Security Administration and veterans’ benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She also helps individuals throughout the state who have been harmed by the negligence of other parties and who are seeking compensation for their losses.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Marietta College in 1990 and a Master of Business Administration from West Virginia University in 1991, Ms. Dils attended the University of Virginia School of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1994. She became interested in disability benefits law while in law school, and she now helps her clients through an often frustrating bureaucratic maze of medical records, administrative documents and claims forms. Admitted to practice before all West Virginia state courts, Ms. Dils is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of West Virginia.
During her distinguished legal career, Ms. Dils has been recognized for her achievements by a variety of groups and organizations. The quality of her legal advice garnered her a Readers’ Choice award from the Parkersburg News and Sentinel, and she has been selected for inclusion in The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. Her track record and high degree of ethics has resulted in her receipt of a "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. Ms. Dils is active in a variety of professional organizations, including the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys and the American Association for Justice.
