A native of Wisconsin, I was born in the Milwaukee area and raised in Green Bay. I am a 2003 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  Upon graduation, I decided to make the leap and enroll in law school. I received my J.D. in 2006 from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, MN.  During law school, I focused on gaining practical experience through participation in internships and clinics. I was a summer intern at a local, Wisconsin law firm where I became familiar with the inner workings of a mid-sized law firm, and specifically the family law practice division. During my second year of law school I participated in the Children's Law Clinic, and a trial skills course, where I gained valuable insight while working on real cases for disadvantaged children and families.  I then went back to my firm and sepent my 2L summer doing exclusively family law.

Upon graduation from law school, I moved back to my home town and took up employment with a local Green Bay law firm where I was thrown into the courtroom environment immediately. I quickly learned to overcome any fears I had of working in a field of law that requires me to appear in court.  I’ve found that practicing family law is the perfect fit for my skill set.  I lthrive on the interpersonal connection that exists when representing litigants in family law. After 9 years in this practice area, I feel that this is where I shine. My experience in this field has helped me to grow into a strong, skilled, confident, and most of all, compassionate advocate for my clients and their children.

I make it a point to keep my clients focused on their children and how their decisions and actions will affect their children. Whenever possible, it is my goal to remove my client from the courtroom by way of skilled negotiation or mediation, as this almost always results in the least damage to the family. However, there are situations when the parties simply cannot resolve an issue, and, in that case, I am fully prepared to represent my client’s interests in the courtroom setting.

In 2015 I successfully resolved via mediation a divorce that had been pending for over 2 years involving a multi-million dollar corporation and also a family farm.  I have resolved divorces involving marital estates of over 5 million dollars.  I have close relationships with CPA's and forensic accountants that I can rely on for use in prelitigation negotiations and in trial.  I was also selected by a prominent Milwaukee attorney to serve as parent coordinator and local counsel on a mulit-million dollar divorce he was handling in Brown County.  I have represented medical doctors, doctor's wives, farmers, and business owners of all types.

I also volunteer my time.  I am the current Chair of the Board of Directors for CASA of the Fox Cities where we assit the court in providing and supervising trained citizen volunteers who advocate for abused and neglegted children in our CHIPS system.  I have also served as a fundraising committee member for Harbor House, an organization that strives to protect vicitims of domestic violence in our community.  I have served as a mock trial coach for a local at risk school. Finally, I also serve as a volunteer and girl scout leader at the school my own children attend.  I am a member of the Outagamie County, Brown County, and Wisconsin Bar Associations, including a member of the Family Law Section of the Wisconsin Bar.  I am also a founding member of the Outagamie County Young Lawyers Division.
