Sheila L. Romell has devoted her career to the practice of family law. From her office in Brookfield, Wisconsin, she provides representation to clients throughout Southeast Wisconsin area in matters involving divorce, mediation, property division, child custody and support, maintenance (alimony) and paternity. In addition to litigation, Ms. Romell provides mediation services to parties who would like to resolve their disputes outside of a courtroom, and she has also served as guardian ad litem in many divorce and paternity actions.
As an undergraduate, Ms. Romell attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 1985. She then pursued her legal education at Marquette University Law School and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1988. While in law school, Ms. Romell served on the Marquette Law Review. After graduation, she worked with area law firms until founding the Law Office of Sheila L. Romell SC in 2002. She is admitted to practice before all Wisconsin state courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Romell has earned the high regard of her fellow attorneys for the ethical manner in which she handles her clients' sensitive family law issues. This has resulted in her receipt of a Distinguished* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, and has been named an Elite Lawyer since 2021.
