Attorney Michael R. Cohen is the founder and owner of Cohen Law Offices in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Nationally recognized as a preeminent trial attorney, Mr. Cohen focuses his practice solely on Criminal and DUI/DWI/OWI defense. He has 35 years of experience advocating on behalf of clients throughout Wisconsin who stand accused of, or are under investigation for, any felony or misdemeanor offense.

A 1988 graduate of Dartmouth College, Mr. Cohen attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1991. Mr. Cohen also holds certification from the American Chemical Society in Forensic Chromatography IX: Blood Testing Theory & Practice and Forensic Chromatography: Solid Drug Dose Testing III. Additionally, he completed the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Highly active in his legal in his legal community, Mr. Cohen is a member of the Eau Claire County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is also a member of the NCDD and DUIDLA, both leading national organizations whose purpose is to defend OWI cases. Mr. Cohen is also a member of the American Chemical Society's Chemical and Law Division. Further, he served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for over 30 years where he was a member of the Executive Committee and is a now a Past-President. He also is a former member of the Preliminary Review Committee of the lawyer ethics division of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

 Mr. Cohen actively supports his local community through his involvement with various civic and charitable organizations in his area. He is a former Board member of the local Red Cross office in Eau Claire, the local Rotary group, the local youth soccer association, and other local non-profit organizations. He still serves on the board of a local arts organization.
