Alex Eichhorn is the founder and managing attorney of Pivot Work Injury Law, a Wisconsin firm that stands beside injured workers and victims of negligence from its offices in Elm Grove and Milwaukee. In more than a decade of practice, he has earned a reputation for combining tenacious advocacy with genuine care for the people he represents. His practice centers on workers’ compensation, where he brings sharp focus and a client-first approach to every case. Clients come away from working with him feeling heard, respected and empowered to move forward.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Eichhorn has handled more than 2,000 workers' compensation matters and secured upwards of $35 million in benefits and settlements for clients throughout the state. That record led him to establish Pivot Work Injury Law with a defining principle: every client deserves exceptional representation and personal attention.

Mr. Eichhorn's path to the law began at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where he graduated magna cum laude with dual degrees in psychology and political science and earned an Honors College certificate. He was named UWM's Spotlight 2011 Graduate, an honor formally conferred in 2019 in recognition of his professional and civic contributions. He went on to Marquette University Law School, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2014 with a focus on civil litigation and workers' compensation.

While attending Marquette University Law School, Mr. Eichhorn was selected to represent the institution in the American Bar Association’s National Negotiation Competition, an experience that sharpened the advocacy skills central to his practice. In 2013, while still a law student, he joined a then six-attorney firm that has since grown into a nationwide practice, concentrating on Social Security Disability, veterans benefits and workers’ compensation.

Mr. Eichhorn played an instrumental role in building the firm’s workers’ compensation division from its inception, helping it become one of the largest disability and work injury practices in Wisconsin. In 2016, he was named an equity partner, and he has since led the firm’s efforts in marketing, business development, and operations.

Additionally, Mr. Eichhorn’s accomplishments have earned recognition from The Best Lawyers in America in workers' compensation, the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys as a Top 10 Attorney Under 40 and the Avvo Client's Choice Award.

  • Tabak Law has recently settled one of the firm’s largest worker’s compensation cases in Wisconsin history, says Attorney Alex Eichhorn, during an interview with the Wisconsin Law Journal Thursday. According to Eichhorn, he recently secured $5 million in benefits for three workers who were tragically injured in a 2019 explosion. Eichhorn noted although the injury occurred outside of Wisconsin, the company was based in Wisconsin, so the settlement negotiations had jurisdiction in the Badger State. Almost four years after the incident, justice has finally been served, he noted. “I think ultimately there was a lot of justice served,” Eichhorn said. According to Eichhorn, one of the injured had 95% of his body burned during the explosion, resulting in more than 35 surgeries to the victim’s esophagus. The $5 million verdict was taken on a contingency fee, Eichhorn said, noting that a third-party settlement out-of-state resulted in an additional $20 million. “In that case, counsel demonstrated there was knowledge of faulty leak in propane or they should have known,” he said. https://wislawjournal.com/2023/12/08/alex-eichhorn-tabak-law-secures-5-million-workers-comp-settlement/, 2023

Firm News (Newsletters)

  • The article emphasizes the importance of promptly reporting and documenting even minor workplace injuries to protect an employee’s right to Wisconsin workers’ compensation benefits. Minor injuries, such as strains, soreness, or repetitive-use symptoms, can develop into more serious conditions over time. Early documentation establishes a timeline connecting the injury to employment and helps prevent insurers from disputing causation, notice, or the relationship to preexisting conditions. The article recommends reporting injuries to supervisors, completing incident reports, seeking medical attention when appropriate, and keeping written records. These steps can strengthen medical opinions, support future claims, and identify workplace hazards before they cause more serious injuries. Key takeaway: Even seemingly insignificant workplace injuries should be documented promptly because early reporting can make a substantial difference if symptoms worsen or a workers’ compensation dispute arises later., How Documenting Even “Small” Injuries Can Help Your Wisconsin Workers’ Compensation Claim in the Future, Workers Compensation
