Craig Steger

Craig Steger is a partner at Hale Skemp Hanson Skemp & Sleik, where he holds a general legal practice encompassing various areas of law, including, but not limited to: 

• Trucking Accidents
• Farming Accidents
• Products liability
• Personal Injury
• Wrongful death

Operating from his office in La Crosse, Wisconsin, he provides legal services to clients across Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.

Mr. Steger is further admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. With a consistent presence in both state and federal court systems, Mr. Steger adeptly handles a multitude of cases.

Mr. Steger is a member of the Iowa Association of Justice, the American Association of Justice, and Maximum Lawyer Guild.  

In terms of education, Mr. Steger holds a Juris Doctor degree from Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He earned this degree in 2005, during which time he achieved distinctions by making appearances on both the honors list and dean's list and being a part of the Ave Maria Law Review’s editorial board. His undergraduate education includes a summa cum laude Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.  He was co-valedictorian of his college graduating class.  

Within his professional and community affiliations, Mr. Steger is a significant contributor. He is a past member of the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Wisconsin and serves as the co-chair of the DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility) Task Force. Additionally, his involvement extends to the Wisconsin Law Foundation. Demonstrating a commitment to pro bono work, Mr. Steger engages with the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, showcasing his dedication beyond traditional legal responsibilities.
