Chelsea Sanders

From Madison, Wisconsin, Chelsea Sanders at Your Family Law Center brings a wealth of knowledge to guide families through various legal challenges, including custody and placement modifications, child support adjustments and divorce proceedings.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2009, Ms. Sanders pursued her Juris Doctor at Marquette University Law School, graduating in 2012. She has been a licensed attorney in Wisconsin since that year. During her time at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she was recognized on the dean’s Honor list for three semesters.

At law school, Ms. Sanders actively engaged in the Academic Support Program and the Street Law program. She also served as the vice president of the Criminal Law Society and participated in Moot Court, receiving the Best Brief award for Marquette Moot Court Competitors.

Ms. Sanders embarked on her legal journey at the State Public Defender’s Office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she wore many hats from 2008 to 2009. Starting as an intern and Client Service Specialist, she carried out intake assessments, crafted legal memoranda for sentencing recommendations and guided clients in tapping into community resources. Her path led her to the Waukesha County Courthouse, where she served as a Law Clerk for Judge Mac Davis from 2011 to 2012. There, she delved into reviewing motions and memoranda, conducting legal research and penning administrative opinions on a variety of civil cases.

Beginning her professional journey as an associate family law attorney at a Milwaukee law firm, Chelsea focused on a broad spectrum of family law issues. Her dedication deepened when she moved to a Glendale law firm, expanding her role to include Social Security Disability cases and guardian ad litem services in Waukesha County.

Evolving into the role of owner/attorney at her firm in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Ms. Sanders continued to offer family law and Social Security Disability services, including guardian ad litem work. Her skill next brought her to a law office in Menomonee Falls, where she served as a senior associate family law attorney and completed in-house mediation training. Her journey reached a pinnacle as a senior litigation attorney at a prominent law firm in Milwaukee/Madison, Wisconsin, focusing on family law litigation.

Today, Ms. Sanders has been an integral part of Your Family Law Center since 2024, helping families navigate their legal journeys with compassion and competence.
