Ms. Richman boasts an impressive career, highlighted by her long-standing role as a Chapter 7 panel bankruptcy trustee. Additionally, she has represented various clients, including debtors, trustees, creditors, creditors’ committees, landlords, tenants, investors and other parties, in bankruptcy and state courts. Her advocacy extends to the appellate level, as she has successfully argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
A Marquette University graduate, Ms. Richman achieved a B.A. with a major in education in 1987. Subsequently, she pursued her J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School, completing her degree in 1993. She has also contributed to the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees journal publications. She holds admissions to practice in Wisconsin state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Wisconsin.
Ms. Richman’s dedication to her field is evident in her six-year role as a director at the American Bankruptcy Institute, where she actively contributed to the Seminars Education Committee and chaired the regional American Bankruptcy Institute Central States Advisory Board. Within the State Bar of Wisconsin Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Creditors Rights Section, she has held various leadership roles, including serving as the organization’s chair and leading its annual seminar retreat. Furthermore, she is recognized as a respected master of the bench in the American Inns of Court, a distinguished fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation and a member of the Dane County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Renowned for her knowledge in bankruptcy matters, Ms. Richman has presented lectures for eminent institutions, including Lorman Education Services, the National Business Institute, the University of Wisconsin Law School, the American Conference Institute, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the United States Trustee Program.
