Attorney Mehlos serves on the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Attorney's Executive Board, speaks to lawyers at state and national conferences on topics involving legal strategy and law firm leadership, and hosts a podcast, "Invictus" discussing cutting-edge criminal defense issues to advocate for those wrongfully accused of serious crimes. He has been recognized by the National Registry of Exonerations in 2023 after securing a complete acquittal of his client (who had been previously convicted of four serious crimes with another attorney at trial based on a "false confession"), making his client one of 3,000 Americans who have been wrongfully convicted of a crime they did not commit only to be subsequently demonstrated to be innocent.
