Nicole Pellerin

Concentrating her practice on bankruptcy, insolvency litigation, and complex probate, Attorney Nicole I. Pellerin is a Shareholder at the Wisconsin law firm of Murphy Desmond S.C. with offices in Madison, Janesville, Dodgeville, and Appleton. 

Named on lists for Best Lawyers (in America in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law), and a Wisconsin Super Lawyer (in Creditor Debtor Rights), Attorney Pellerin takes on cases involving business and individual creditors and debtors, as well as probate matters in estate planning. She represents individual and business debtors and creditors in all chapters of bankruptcy and other insolvency proceedings, including creditor's committees in Chapter 11. She has represented Chapter 7 Trustees across Wisconsin and receivers in state court receiverships.

In 2018, Attorney Pellerin was appointed to the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the Western District of Wisconsin. She has served as a Panel Trustee in the Western District of Wisconsin, as well as the Northern District of Illinois.

Probate matters tend to present issues similar to those she faces in bankruptcy such as determining property interests and rights, analyzing and compromising claims, and acting as a fiduciary. A member of various bankruptcy organizations, Attorney Pellerin also serves as Co-Chair of Murphy Desmond's Creditor Rights, Business Bankruptcy & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She has presented at Wisconsin State Bar seminars and to the National Business Institute, and she served as Associate Editor of the "American Bankruptcy Trustee Journal," a publication of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. Attorney Pellerin also served as the Chair of the Western District Bankruptcy Bar, as President of the Downtown Madison Optimist Club, and as Vice Chair of the Wisconsin Network of International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC).
