Erin Rome is a partner at Palmersheim Dettmann, S.C., concentrating her practice in business litigation, business law, employment law, and appellate practice. Erin is an experienced trial attorney at Palmersheim Dettmann, and has guided multiple clients through the process from filing the complaint to representing them at jury trials and on appeal. Prior to joining Palmersheim Dettmann, Erin served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable JoAnne Kloppenburg at the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Erin’s litigation work has included franchise disputes under Wisconsin’s Fair Dealership Law, as well as contract disputes, trademark disputes, and other business matters.
In addition to her litigation work, Erin also routinely assists clients with transactional matters. This involves advising clients on business start-ups, reviewing and drafting contracts, and representing clients dealing with business transitions such as buying and selling businesses. Erin also has experience representing clients on employment-related matters, including reviewing and drafting employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
Erin graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School, during which time she participated in a number of legal clerkships and internships. Erin worked as a legal intern for the Frank J. Remington Center’s Legal Assistance to Institutionalized Persons Project, where she represented incarcerated individuals on a wide range of post-conviction legal issues. Erin also served as a legal intern for the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office and Disability Rights Wisconsin.
Erin is active in a number of professional organizations, including the Dane County Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the Legal Association for Women. Erin serves as the chair of the Dane County Bar Association's Program Committee, and as a Board Member of the Legal Association for Women.
