Teuta Jonuzi

Teuta Jonuzi is the managing partner of Tracey Wood & Associates in Middleton, Wisconsin, where she leads a busy criminal defense practice and represents clients in family-based immigration petitions. Her criminal practice encompasses the full spectrum of matters from traffic and motor vehicle offenses, DUIs and misdemeanors to serious felonies such as assault, sexual offenses and homicide, as well as cases involving drug and alcohol violations, theft, tax evasion, expungement, false accusations, parole and probation matters, and related proceedings.

Ms. Jonuzi began her tenure at Tracey Wood & Associates as an associate attorney, was elevated to managing attorney in 2019 and became an equity partner in 2023. A native of Macedonia, she is fluent in Albanian and French. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin School of Law and holds a dual undergraduate degree in French and Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin.

An upstanding figure in the legal circle, Ms. Jonuzi is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Federal Bar for the Western District of Wisconsin, and she is admitted to practice in all Wisconsin state courts. Early in her career, she completed internships with the Federal Defender’s Office in Madison and with Justice Ann Walsh Bradley at the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

An active contributor to the criminal-defense community, Ms. Jonuzi is affiliated with the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Criminal Defense College and The National College for DUI Defense, where she also serves as faculty. She has presented at State Bar seminars and at National College for DUI Defense programs on topics such as creating a trial record for appeal and challenging breath-test evidence, and she authored the NCDD-member article “What Should I Know About Collateral Attacks?”. Committed to public service, she has undertaken pro bono work with the Juvenile Life Without Parole Project, the Veterans’ Law Clinic, Wills for Heroes and the Community Immigration Law Center.
