James L. Miller

James L. Miller is an accomplished attorney and founding partner of Miller & Miller Law Firm LLC, helping clients throughout Wisconsin from offices in Milwaukee, Madison, Kenosha, Appleton, Brookfield, Glendale and Green Bay. Backed by over two decades of experience, he helps navigate Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, debt settlement and other financial-relief options. He also represents clients in personal injury and family law matters, delivering pragmatic advice and compassionate advocacy every step of the way.

Mr. Miller’s dedication to his practice springs from personal experience. As an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, he witnessed his parents endure bankruptcy amid serious health crises and business setbacks. Alongside his sibling, he navigated the complex legal procedures and paperwork, an experience that inspired him to pursue law at the University of Miami School of Law. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1991 and was admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin in 1992.

Grounded in empathy and fueled by firsthand insight, Mr. Miller takes the time to understand each client’s unique situation. They craft customized solutions designed to restore financial stability, protect assets and bring peace of mind, empowering individuals and families to rebuild and reclaim their futures.

Beyond his courtroom work, Mr. Miller is deeply committed to his community. He has served as Board Chair of the Milwaukee Jewish Community Center, where he championed educational, cultural and recreational programs. As former president and current Loan Committee Chair of the Milwaukee Jewish Free Loan Association, he advances dignity and self-sufficiency through interest-free loans.

Additionally, Mr. Miller volunteers with Operation Dream, plays in a local basketball league and runs marathons – living out his belief in resilience, teamwork and service.
