Mr. Krings attended the University of Wisconsin, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1973, graduating cum laude. While in law school, he published in the Wisconsin Law Review and was the Wisconsin Law Review editor.

For six years, Mr. Krings served as commissioner for the Milwaukee County Condemnation Commission, and he was the attorney for Making Project Wisconsin for two years. His additional community service includes membership on the City of Milwaukee Ethics Board and two years as a city election inspector.

  • 2009 - 2013:  Represented receiver In re DOC Milwaukee, LP, Milwaukee County Circuit Court concerning the defunct construction of a 13 story hotel and condominium building in downtown Milwaukee, the construction of which was stalled for over 5 years because of the recession.  The players included Icelandic investors, an insolvent Atlanta, Georgia bank, the FDIC, a New York hedge fund, participant community banks (local and regional), dozens of Milwaukee contractors, and dozens of Milwaukee, New York and Atlanta attorneys.  It involved one of the most complex real estate disputes in recent Wisconsin history.  After 3 years of litigation in numerous different federal and state court actions, the property was sold at auction in 2012.  Claims totaled over $30,000,000.00.  The litigation resulted in nearly all the Milwaukee contractors being paid.  All claims were settled but for a few.  The remaining unresolved legal issues were argued in the appellate court.
