Krista LaFave

Krista LaFave is an attorney at the firm Gingras, Thomsen & Wachs LLP located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She focuses her practice exclusively on personal injury matters involving auto accidents, bike accidents, defective products, nursing home neglect, civil rights, wrongful death, and discrimination and harassment in the workplace. 

Throughout her career in law, Ms. LaFave takes immense delight in standing up for people and defending their rights. Her two biggest advocacy skills are empathy and understanding. Her prior experience as an insurance company representative has given her insight into how they think and operate, which she uses to the benefit of her clients. 

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and French, Ms. LaFave graduated with honors in the liberal arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She also attended Sciences Po in Paris for a semester. She obtained her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the Tulane University Law School in 2013, where she was inducted into The Order of Barristers and a recipient of the Tulane 34 Award. 

While in law school, Ms. LaFave served as a judicial extern for a renowned judge at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. She is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. 

An active affiliate with the legal community, Ms. LaFave serves as a treasurer at the Association for Women Lawyers and a contributing editor for the Wisconsin Association for Justice’s (WAJ) publication, The Verdict. At the WAJ, she also is a member of the Women’s Caucus. Additionally, she is a State Bar of Wisconsin member and an Eviction Defense Project volunteer at the Legal Action of Wisconsin. 

Honored for her notable work in the area of personal injury, Ms. LaFave was selected for inclusion in the list of Top 40 Under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers.
