A partner at Wiemer Law Group, LLC, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sarah C. Whiting dedicates her practice to all facets of family law. With a deep commitment to compassionate advocacy, she represents clients in divorce, paternity, grandparent visitation, support, property division, business valuation, and child custody and placement matters. Although she is a seasoned trial attorney, she firmly believes that out-of-court resolutions often serve families best.

Central to Ms. Whiting’s philosophy is guiding parents and families through conflict with dignity and respect. She employs collaborative divorce techniques, mediation and arbitration to craft solutions that minimize emotional strain and financial burden. By fostering frank communication and focusing on shared goals, she helps clients navigate change and rebuild relationships without confronting the uncertainty of litigation.

A passionate champion for children’s interests, Ms. Whiting serves as a court-appointed guardian ad litem in family proceedings, zealously protecting minors’ rights. Her dual perspective as both advocate and neutral evaluator allows her to offer families balanced advice and achieve outcomes that prioritize children’s well-being.

In 2019, Ms. Whiting enhanced her knowledge in divorce finance by earning her Divorce Financial Analyst certification from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts. She holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School. Admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin in 2009, she was named an "Up and Coming Lawyer" by the Wisconsin Law Journal in 2010.

Before practicing law, Ms. Whiting worked as a social worker for Wraparound Milwaukee, connecting families to vital legal, mental health and educational services – an experience that shapes her holistic, healing-focused approach. An active speaker and writer, she regularly presents at state and national conferences and contributes articles to leading family law journals.

Beyond her practice, Ms. Whiting serves on the editorial board of the Wisconsin Journal of Family Law, chairs the membership committee of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and will soon direct the Family Mediation Certificate program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
