Tamar Kelber

A partner at the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, law firm of Gass Turek LLC, Tamar Kelber’s practice focuses on product liability, commercial litigation and mass tort litigation. In commercial matters, she represents clients in a range of industries including pharmaceuticals, health insurance, financial services, and construction. Her product liability experience spans a variety of areas including consumer products, catastrophic injury, and life science.  She counsels clients on risk avoidance, conducts pre-suit investigations, and handles all aspects of litigation, from discovery through trial and appeal.

Majoring in psychology and sociology, Ms. Kelber obtained her Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1991. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1994. While there, she served as associate articles editor for Northwestern Law Review. She was first admitted to practice in Illinois in 1994 and in Wisconsin in 2015.

Ms. Kelber served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Judge James B. Loken at the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit in St Paul, Minnesota, for over a year. She then worked as an associate attorney at a leading law firm in Chicago, Illinois, for seven-plus years before becoming a partner at the same firm for 13 years.  She returned home to Milwaukee and joined Gass Turek in 2015.

Ms. Kelber has held various leadership positions in the American Bar Association's Product Liability Committee, and has been an active member of DRI and the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and the Defense Research Institute.  She has been recognized by Chambers & Partners in Band 2 for Commercial Litigation.

Involved in her community, Ms. Kelber served as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of Onward Neighborhood House, a nonprofit settlement house in Chicago's Belmont Cragin neighborhood for several years.  In Milwaukee, she is currently the President of the Board of Directors of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun.  She is also a member of the Board of Visitors for the Psychology Department at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
