Demonstrating his commitment to professional excellence, he became board-certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 2011 and in Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy in 2012.
Admitted to practice in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa, Mr. Korb is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. - After Claim Denied, Client Awarded $315,000 Our client’s claim was initially denied and Attorney Todd Korb had to file a lawsuit. The client was struck by a passing vehicle as he was getting out of his vehicle. He suffered from neck, back and shoulder pain. His main injury was a torn right rotator cuff. After surgery, he incurred about $130,000 in medical bills. Attorney Todd Korb settled his case for $315,000 at mediation., 2021
- $300,000 POLICY LIMITS COLLECTED AFTER DEADLY FIRE Our client was renting a home when he died in a house fire. He was in the process of purchasing the home. According to the fire chief, it was an electrical fire caused by faulty wiring in the back of the stove or the stove itself. Attorney Todd Korb argued the homeowner at the time did not have proper smoke detectors in the home. Attorney Korb persuaded the homeowner's insurance company to offer their policy limits of $300,000., 2023
- INJURED MOTORCYCLIST RECEIVES $375,000 AFTER INSTALLATION ERROR Our clients were riding their motorcycles back from the national BMW rally that was taking place in Des Moines when the secretary of the Wisconsin BMW Motorcycle Club had her front tire fail, causing her to be thrown to the ground. She suffered a fractured scapula, fractured ribs and a head injury. Her husband was following her and came upon the accident scene. The front tire was a tubed tire and had just been replaced before the trip. They were not even contemplating making any claim against anyone, but Attorney Todd Korb spoke with them and encouraged them to let him look into it and see if Hupy and Abraham can help. Attorney Korb initially thought it might be a products liability case, as the tube and tire were brand new. He obtained the tube and tire and had an expert examine them. The expert found it to not be defective and thought the tube may have blown due to improper installation. Attorney Korb then made a claim against the installer, who denied the case. Attorney Korb put the case into suit and the defendants made an offer of judgment to settle the case for $24,000. In litigation, Attorney Korb deposed the installer who made a video showing how he installed the tube and tire. He testified it was impossible to damage the tube during installation when using the machine he was using, and that the blown tube was caused by a pothole. Hupy and Abraham made a videotape of the stretch of highway where the accident occurred and there were no potholes anywhere where the accident occurred. The firm obtained Department of Transportation records to prove there had been no reports of potholes or work on potholes on the highway where the accident occurred and to prove the highway had just been repaved shortly before the accident. The operator’s manual for the tire machine that was used, gave four steps to take when installing a tube and tire. Attorney Korb deposed a representative of the tire machine manufacturer who had authored the operator’s manual. That person testified it was possible to damage the tube during installation with the machine if there is operator error and that each of the four steps in the manual specifically on tube installation are to avoid having a pinch flat. In the video the installer prepared, he failed to perform any of the four steps. A pinch flat occurs when a part of a tube is pinched between the tire and the rim during installation. Over time, the pinch can work its way free and tear, causing a sudden flat tire and an accident. The expert we hired opined that a pinch flat was the most likely cause of the accident. - $950,000 FOR MOTORCYCLE CLIENT AFTER VEHICLE FAILS TO YIELD Our client was injured when a vehicle failed to yield the right of way and struck her on her motorcycle. She suffered several fractures including her right wrist and her pelvis/hip. She had to have multiple surgeries and was out of work for almost two years. - $2,000,000 SETTLEMENT GOES TO CLIENT AFTER REAR-END COLLISION Our client was a passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended by a vehicle that had been rear-ended by a semi. His neck arteries were damaged, which required surgery. He suffered a stroke and a number of fractures in his spine, as well as a chipped hip bone. - CYCLIST RECEIVES $100,000 AFTER DEFENDANT’S STORY DOESN’T MATCH UP Our client was riding his motorcycle when he says a driver to his left pulled out in front of him causing him to strike the car, and then he was run over by the car. He suffered a number of rib, spine and hip fractures. The defendant driver claimed that she just stopped to make a left turn and our client rear-ended her. Her version of events did not match up with where the damage was on the vehicle and didn’t explain how our client wound up under the defendant’s vehicle. After Attorney Todd Korb conducted depositions, the defendant insurance company offered up their policy limits of $100,000 to settle the case., 2021
- Pedestrian Receives $17,000 After Struck by Car Our client was a pedestrian walking alongside the road when a vehicle came from behind and struck her causing her to fall down and fracture her ankle. The police who investigated the accident put all the blame on our client for walking on the wrong side of the road with traffic so she couldn’t see the vehicle coming. The insurance company for the vehicle operator denied the claim. Attorney Todd Korb sent a demand to the insurance company and was able to get them to change their mind. - Our client and his brother were riding their motorcycles on a clear summer evening in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. They were cruising down the highway when a lawn mower pulled out in front of them. Our client’s brother swerved out of the way, while our client braked to avoid the collision, but was unable to avoid hitting the lawnmower. The insurance company’s initial offer was $5,000.00. They hired a reconstructionist who alleged that our client was speeding excessively. Attorney Todd Korb took the case to trial and the jury awarded a $422,000.00 verdict., 2017
