Markus Yira is a Minnesota State Bar Association board-certified civil trial specialist focusing his practice on personal injury law. With three decades of experience in his practice, he has handled cases involving motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents and wrongful death. Additionally, he has represented clients in matters of civil litigation, alternative dispute resolution, arbitration, mediation, business law, and estate planning and probate. Beyond his primary certifications, Mr. Yira is a highly skilled alternative dispute resolution specialist. Upon graduating from Hamline University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Mr. Yira pursued his law degree at William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law). He gained his Juris Doctor in 1996 and, in the same year, was admitted to practice in Minnesota. He also holds admission to practice in Wisconsin and is allowed to practice before federal courts in both states.
Mr. Yira previously served as president and was on the board of governors of the Minnesota Association for Justice. He was also appointed by the court to the Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure to review and recommend changes to the Minnesota Rules of Civil Procedure. For his contributions to the legal profession, he received the Amicus Curiae Award from the Minnesota First Judicial District and the President’s Award from the Minnesota Association for Justice.
