Kristina L. Thelen

Kristina L. Thelen is the founder of Thelen & Flink, LLC, located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and the surrounding areas. Representing clients throughout the area, she focuses her practice entirely on family law, handling matters involving divorce, custody and visitation, post-judgment order modifications, paternity and prenuptial agreements. While many of her cases are resolved only after litigation, Ms. Thelen has experience in providing advice and counsel to clients who are going through family law mediation.

As an undergraduate, Ms. Thelen attended the University of Washington, graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1988. She then went on to attend Marquette University Law School and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1991. Ms. Thelen was the co-founder of a Milwaukee family law firm before leaving to start her own practice some years later. Admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Michigan, she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western District of Wisconsin and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Ms. Thelen is known for her compassionate approach to her clients' cases, and she has received positive recognition from her fellow professionals as well. She has received an "excellent" peer review rating through Avvo, and in 2015, her favorable client reviews led to her being selected for the American Institute of Legal Counsel.

Dedicated to her profession, Ms. Thelen stays up to date with changes in the law through her active participation in numerous legal organizations. A member of the Waukesha Bar Association, she is also a member of the Wisconsin Association of Mediators and the Justinian Society of Lawyers.
