Attorney Profile

A co-founder of MacGillis Wiemer, Graham P. Wiemer focuses his practice largely on family law matters. Located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and with clients throughout the greater Milwaukee metropolitan area, he is admitted to practice before all Wisconsin state courts as well as before the U.S. States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, the U.S. State Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition to his family law practice, Mr. Wiemer also represents police officers, firefighters, and other local government employees in a variety of labor and employment matters.

Mr. Weimer's family law practice primarily consists of the representation of people who are facing the end of their marriage and who are thus having to deal with such divorce-related issues as property division, alimony and child support, and child custody and visitation. His training in mediation and collaborative law often enables him to assist his clients in reaching an accord on some of these matters through the use of those alternative dispute resolution techniques, but he is also a forceful courtroom advocate when litigation becomes necessary. In addition to his divorce practice, Mr. Weimer helps clients whose marriages have already been dissolved and who are seeking modifications to or the enforcement of parenting and support orders. He has also been appointed as guardian ad litem for children who are caught up in custody battles.

Mr. Weimer has received a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo for the quality of his legal work and his high degree of ethics. Another indication of the high regard in which he is held by his colleagues is his being selected to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. Frequently asked to deliver presentations on family law topics to groups of fellow professionals, he is a member of the Society of Family Lawyers and several other legal groups.
