Sean Larson, a partner at Hathaway & Kunz, LLP, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, masterfully navigates a diverse range of civil matters with a vibrant and innovative approach. His practice encompasses both civil litigation and business transactions, striving to craft practical solutions for both simple and complex challenges as they emerge.
Mr. Larson explores numerous legal territories, from contracts and business operations to corporate governance, energy resources, public lands and personal injury. His skill extends to insurance defense, administrative law, intellectual property, trade secrets, probate, trust administration, construction, real estate, sports and entertainment, legalized gaming and various other civil domains within Wyoming. Much of this experience was honed during his time clerking in state and federal courts.
A Wyoming native, Mr. Larson embodies the spirit of his home state, understanding that legal representation in Wyoming should reflect its unique ethos. He is diligent, determined and driven, aiming to provide insightful and effective counsel when needed. His journey began at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he played football and cherished his six years there. After graduating and working for two years, he returned to Wyoming to attend law school at the University of Wyoming College of Law.
Upon earning his Juris Doctor in 2013, Mr. Larson embarked on a new chapter by moving to Cheyenne, where he took on the role of a law clerk for the esteemed Judge Steven K. Sharpe at the First Judicial District Court of Wyoming. After dedicating two years to this position, he embraced another year of learning as a law clerk under the respected Judge Alan B. Johnson at the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming. The wisdom and mentorship he received from these distinguished judges continue to inspire and shape his legal journey today.
Licensed to practice in Wyoming since 2013, Mr. Larson is admitted to the Wyoming Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. Beyond his courtroom endeavors, he is a published legal writer and dedicated researcher, delving into the foundational “why” beneath the written law.
An esteemed presence in the legal community, Mr. Larson actively participates in the Federal Bar Association, serving as president and current board member of its Wyoming Chapter.
