Bryan Ulmer focuses his practice on the representation of people who have been injured, physically and financially, by the wrongful acts of others. Many of his cases involve the representation of persons or the families of persons who have been seriously injured or killed due to industrial accidents, railroad accidents, product defects, medical malpractice or other accidents. Mr. Ulmer also works on many other cases involving financial injury caused by fraud, theft of intellectual property, violations of the False Claims Act, contract disputes and other commercial matters. Mr. Ulmer is a co-manager of the firm with two other partners and is active in a variety of law related organizations.

Verdicts / Settlements (Case Results)

  • Work with fellow Spence partner resulted in a $28.2 million dollar verdict for Amber Lompe who was poisoned in her Casper, Wyoming apartment by carbon monoxide created by a neglected furnace.  The verdict was reported as one of the Top 100 Verdicts of 2013 by the National Law Journal.  (Lompe v.   • $10.16M damages verdict in a medical malpractice case (with partner Emily Rankin), 2018
  • In July 2014, Bryan and Spence associate obtained a verdict of $5.19 million in Sweetwater County, Wyoming for severe injuries to a young oil field worker injured on the jobsite. The jury found that defendant Merit Energy was just as responsible as the worker’s employer and Merit will be responsible to pay over $2.3 million as a result.  (Horr v. Merit Energy Company)., 2014
