J. Blake Mayes

J. Blake Mayes is one of the founding partners at the law firm MayesTelles PLLC serving clients across Phoenix and the state of Arizona. His experience lies in handling matters related to domestic violence, sex crimes, theft, white collar crimes, DUI and drug offenses. He also takes on personal injury cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises and product liability, construction accidents, serious injuries, and wrongful death claims. 

For two decades, Mr. Mayes pursued law to provide a voice for people who may not otherwise be able to do so. He has obtained numerous not guilty verdicts/acquittals and dismissals, and has successfully overseen more than a thousand criminal cases. He is tireless in his efforts to protect his clients’ rights with every case he handles. He is known for providing exceptional guidance to his clients and their families in preparation for the future.

With his personalized and hands-on method, Mr. Mayes builds meaningful relationships with his clients. In addition to helping them achieve their goals, he recovers millions of dollars in compensation, including six- and seven-figure settlements. His approach to the development of an appropriate strategy considers the unique circumstances and goals of each client. A 2000 psychology graduate cum laude of the Arizona State University, Mr. Mayes earned his J.D. cum laude from The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. In 2006, he obtained his license and was admitted to practice law at the justice courts, all federal and district courts of Arizona as well as the Superior Courts in Maricopa, Pima, Coconino and Yavapai counties.

Rated “10/10” on Avvo, Mr. Mayes believes in giving back to the community beyond his work in the courtroom. He volunteers as a mentor for New Pathways for Youth as well as guiding high-risk youth in his community. Further, he provides legal services to underserved communities and has been recognized for his pro bono services by the State Bar of Arizona.
