Attorney Profile

A seasoned trial attorney, Richard L. Righi defends clients against personal injury suits and in construction litigation. As a founding member of Righi Fitch Law Group, he serves people in Phoenix, Arizona, in cases that involve issues such as defective products, insurance litigation, professional malpractice and premises liability.

There is no cut-and-dry path to resolution. As a mediator and arbitrator, Mr. Righi caters his approach to every case based on the circumstances involved and the needs of clients. Reaching a settlement is often optimal, as it conserves resources. If that is not possible, Mr. Righi, a former prosecutor, is known for his courtroom presence and has taken more than 60 cases to verdict.

In one specific case involving a contract claim worth $850,000, Mr. Righi secured a defense verdict. Further, in more than 90 percent of his cases concerning civil matters, Mr. Righi has returned awards that are less than the pretrial offers made.

For accomplishments such as these, Mr. Righi holds the highest peer rating possible of AV Preeminent* from Martindale-Hubbell, and he has been listed in the A.M. Best Company, Inc., Best’s Recommended Insurance Attorneys.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science from Miami University, Mr. Righi earned a Juris Doctor in 1992 from Capital University Law School, where he participated in moot court competitions.

Mr. Righi is a member of the Maricopa County Bar Association’s Construction Law Section, the State Bar of Arizona, the Defense Research Institute (DRI) – The Voice of the Defense Bar, the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel. He is also a published author.
