Jody Harper Alderman is a member of Alderman Bernstein LLC in Denver, Colorado. Devoting her practice to real estate law, she handles transactions as well as litigation for clients in the Denver metropolitan area and all over Colorado in matters involving real estate contracts, eminent domain, lease and easement negotiations, due diligence, closings, contract disputes, Rule 105 proceedings, quiet title actions and Rule 106 appeals regarding land use decisions, and probate litigation.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in 1991, Jody earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Colorado Law School in 1994. While in law school, she was editor-in-chief of the Colorado Law Review, was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and won the American Jurisprudence Award for Constitutional Law.
Admitted to practice in Colorado, Jody is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. In addition to her practice, she is an active member of the Real Estate Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, including the Eminent Domain subcommittee of the Real Estate Law Section. She is also a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).
Jody has presented many continuing legal education classes and seminars on eminent domain law and other legal topics. Since 2007, she has been listed annually in The Best Lawyers in America* in the category of eminent domain and condemnation law, and she also has been given an AV Preeminent** rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Jody is active in her community, including her service on the board of directors of the Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home and the Board of Trustees of Holy Family High School.
