A 1984 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Hilbert attended the University of Colorado Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1988. Licensed to practice in Colorado, Wisconsin and Arizona, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Colorado, the District of Arizona, the Western District of Michigan and the Northern District of California. He also practices before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th, 9th and 10th Circuits as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Widely regarded as a leader in his field, Mr. Hilbert routinely conducts lectures and seminars across his region on a variety of legal topics, and he has published numerous articles on subjects involving corporate governance, internal controls, mitigating risk exposure and other related topics. He has conducted numerous arbitrations for various state and federal agencies, including FINRA and the National Futures Association, and served as first chair in many significant trials and appeals.
Recognized for his impeccable professionalism and exceptional legal abilities, Mr. Hilbert holds an AV Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and he has earned top ratings from Avvo and other client- and peer-review sources. He is the former Chair of the Colorado Judicial Institute.
