Verdicts / Settlements (Case Results)
- A $1,510,000 settlement for our client, a cyclist, was crossing the street at a four-way lighted intersection when he was hit by a motor vehicle that did not see him. Our client had significant and life-changing injuries and medical treatment as a result of the collision. He had severe blood loss, multiples fractures through his body, and an acute kidney injury. At the hospital he was transferred to the surgical intensive care unit as his condition continued to deteriorate to the point of septic shock. Fortunately, his condition did improve over time, and he spent weeks performing therapy in outpatient therapy. The client’s own insurance company initially denied liability in covering the incident, but eventually Miles Hickman and the team at Roman Austin were able to collect over seven figures in insurance benefits from the client’s insurance, 2023
- Head-On Crash with Arm Surgeries Settles for Over $1M Before Trial. Our client was driving when another vehicle pulled out in front of her. As a result, the front ends of both vehicles collided. Our client’s vehicle was totaled, exceeding $20,300 in damages. She initially had pain in her chest and bruising and pain in her right leg. During the course of years of treatment, our client underwent three surgeries to her arms and hand. The initial offer from the insurance company was $162,000. One month before a jury trial, our office was able to get the insurance company to pay $1,010,000 to compensate our client for her severe injuries., 2025
- Interstate Rear-End Crash with Hip and Back Injuries Leads to $165K Settlement. Our client was driving on the interstate when he was rear-ended, causing significant property damage to his vehicle. He suffered severe neck, back, and left hip pain. He received ongoing treatment as a result of this collision, including physical therapy, chiropractic care and medial branch blocks. Our firm issued demands against the other driver’s bodily injury coverage, as well as our client’s underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage. We were able to procure a full policy limits against the at-fault insurance and over one hundred thousand against our client’s uninsured motorist carrier., 2025
- Our client was driving a vehicle through an intersection when she was hit by a driver that ran a red light. Her vehicle sustained about $6,800 in damages. Our client suffered head, neck and back injuries resulting in physical therapy, injections, and a fusion surgery to her spine. Our firm issued a demand against the driver’s bodily injury coverage, initially offered $44,500. After a lawsuit was filed and litigation ensued, we were able to recover $600,000 from the at-fault party’s insurance policy., 2021
- $425,000 Verdict. Our client was 24-years-old when he was hit in a rear-end crash with a commercial hauling company. He faced painful herniated discs in his back, needed medical injections, and had nearly $30,000 in medical bills piling up. Despite an initial offer of just $20,000, we pushed for justice and secured a $425,000 verdict. Our personal injury attorneys and the rest of the team put up the fight our client deserved and got them more than 20X the initial offer!, 2024
- A $500,000 settlement was obtained for our client who was driving her vehicle in the far-right hand turn lane of a multi-lane road, when another vehicle swerved in front of her vehicle, braked abruptly, and caused significant front-end damage to the client’s vehicle. The client’s vehicle sustained $9,194.61 in property damage. The client sustained multiple herniations to her spine which required extensive medical treatment including injections and radiofrequency ablations. After multiple years of fighting the at-fault party’s insurance company, our firm was able to secure satisfactory compensation., 2024
- Our client received a $300,000 settlement after being rear-ended in a high impact collision, which caused $13,992.30 in property damage. The client sustained injuries to his jaw, head, neck, and shoulder. The client eventually underwent surgery to repair a tear in his shoulder caused by the collision. The at-fault party did not have any insurance; however, the client had purchased uninsured motorist coverage which was pursued by our office. After the filing of a lawsuit and continuing to push the case towards trial, the client’s uninsured motorist carrier eventually paid out the full policy limits, 2023
- $266,666.66 settlement for our client that was involved in a rear end collision with significant damage to her vehicle. Client was 19 years old at the time of the collision. She sustained a permanent injury in her lower back. There were multiple layers of insurance coverage that was pursued, including the client’s own uninsured motorist coverage. This carrier did not pay at first but after filing a lawsuit and moving the case towards trial, the firm was successful in getting the carrier to fully compensate the client for her injuries., 2024
- Settlement of $100,000 for our client who was traveling north on US 19 when another party was evading police officers near her. This other party attempted to maneuver her vehicle around the client’s vehicle but collided with the rear fender side of the client’s vehicle. This resulted in over $20,000 of property damage to the client’s vehicle. The client sustained injuries to her spine. The at-fault party had minimal coverage but luckily the client was protected with uninsured motorist coverage at the time of the incident. At first the client’s insurance company tried to give a low ball offer of $20,000, but after the firm filed a Civil Remedy Notice with the department of financial services, the client’s insurance company paid the full insurance limits., 2023
- $100,000 Settlement - Husband and wife were involved in a high-speed impact rear end collision. The wife was a passenger in the vehicle and her husband, the driver, stopped for a pedestrian entering into a walkway. This is when a careless driver failed to recognize the stoppage of traffic and impacted their vehicle from behind. The damage to their vehicle was over $12,000. Both husband and wife had significant spinal injuries but received initial offers of less than $20,000. After filing a lawsuit and continuing to put pressure on the at-fault party’s insurance carrier, the team at Roman Austin was able to get the insurance company to pay the full policy limits for both of their cases, 2023
