    Attorney Profile

Edward G. Willer is a partner at Corboy & Demetrio, where he focuses his practice on personal injury and wrongful death law. Working out of the firm's office in Chicago, he represents clients throughout the metropolitan area. Admitted to practice before all Illinois state courts since 1973, Mr. Willer is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois. His successful track record has earned him a great deal of recognition from his fellow members of the bar, including an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and an "Excellent" peer-review rating through Avvo.

Mr. Willer's client base comprises people who have incurred economic and non-economic losses due to the negligence of other parties. His caseload has included construction site accidents, premises liability, truck and other motor vehicle crashes, defective products, and railroad worker injury lawsuits governed by the Federal Employers' Liability Act. Some of Mr. Willer's successes both at the negotiating table and in the courtroom have included a $2 million settlement for a client who was injured by a forklift truck, a $7.5 million wrongful death settlement for the surviving family members of a construction worker who was killed after falling from a balcony, and a $1.8 million-dollar settlement of a wrongful death lawsuit involving a truck accident.

As an undergraduate, Mr. Willer attended DePaul University and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1970. He remained on campus and obtained his legal education at DePaul University College of Law, where he was a member of the DePaul Law Review and participated in moot court competitions before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 1973. Mr. Willer is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and other professional groups.

Mr. Willer has traveled the world investigating and preparing his cases. In Japan, he investigated and conducted discovery depositions of design engineers for a lawsuit involving the manufacturer of an all-purpose lighter by a Japanese company. In order to fully research another case, he traveled to Germany to investigate the design and manufacturing process of a strapping machine and conveyor system.
