Our other 2026 IL Super Lawyers are Managing Partner Ken Lumb and partners Bill Gibbs, Chad Kasdin, Dan Kirschner, Michelle Kohut, Conrad Nowak, and Edward G. Willer.  Fewer than 5% of Illinois lawyers are selected for the honor.  Partner Mike Ditore, the youngest partner in our firm’s 74-year history, and Attorneys Mitchell Bild and Tommy Demetrio were selected to 2026 Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars.

Every partner was selected to 2026 IL Leading Lawyers, including Mike Ditore, Conrad Nowak and Chad Kasdin.

In addition, Thomas Demetrio has been ranked the #1 Personal Injury Plaintiff’s Lawyer and the #1 Aviation Accidents Plaintiff’s Lawyer by Leading Lawyers since 2020. He was also ranked #2 in the area of Medical Malpractice for Plaintiffs since 2022.

Philip Corboy, Jr. has been named to “Top Ten Product Liability Attorneys” in Illinois by Leading Lawyers since 2019.

In 2026, Corboy & Demetrio was selected to “Best Law Firms” by U.S. News – Best Lawyers® for a 16^th year, receiving the highest ranking possible in the categories of Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice. In addition, C&D received a national ranking in Plaintiffs’ Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions for a fourth year.

Ten Corboy & Demetrio partners earned a spot in The Best Lawyers in America, 2026 Edition, the definitive guide to legal excellence. They include Thomas Demetrio, who has been named every year since 1987, Philip Corboy, Jr., Ken Lumb, Bill Gibbs, Mike Ditore, Dan Kirschner, Michelle Kohut, Francis Patrick Murphy, Conrad C. Nowak, and Edward Willer.

In 2026, nine Corboy & Demetrio partners were selected to the prestigious Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America, including Partner Conrad C. Nowak, who joined the firm in 2023 and Chad D. Kasdin who joined the firm in 2024. Both Conrad and Chad had, respectively, 18 and 24 years of experience as defense attorneys at a large national firm when they joined Corboy & Demetrio.  Their defense experience has already proven to be a tremendous asset, now representing victims and their families.

In 2021, Thomas Demetrio was inducted into the Lawdragon Hall of Fame, and in 2025, Philip Corboy, Jr. was also inducted. 

Back in 2015, Lawdragon anointed Thomas Demetrio “the dean of the Chicago trial bar” when he was selected as a Lawdragon “Legend.”

Our attorneys show extraordinary leadership in the community.  Corboy & Demetrio is the only law firm in Chicago to have had four former Chicago Bar Association Presidents. We are also the only Illinois firm to have had four past Presidents of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, including Thomas and Philip.

We are and always have been dedicated to helping underserved communities. Thomas is the founder of Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth, which funded mentoring/tutoring programs throughout the Chicagoland area for more than three decades.  It currently provides in-house tutoring to Englewood students.  Tom is also a longtime board member of the Center for Disability & Elder Law, which provides free legal services to low-income seniors and persons with disabilities.

Philip Corboy, Jr., is a Past President of the Board of Directors of the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, a not-for-profit agency that provides free civil legal services to low income and elderly people in Chicago and suburban Cook County.

Our firm is a longtime Corporate Work Study Partner of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, providing internships to students from low-income families.
