Attorney Profile

Attorney Nicholas F. Stein is the founder of The Law Office of Nick Stein, which has offices in New Albany, Indiana, and Louisville, Kentucky. Having practiced law for nearly 40 years, Nick gained invaluable trial experience serving as a prosecuting attorney for Floyd County early in his career. He then shifted his focus to representing the rights and entitlements of injury victims, and he established his law firm as a way to better serve those in need.

As a personal injury attorney, Mr. Stein has helped thousands of clients recover the maximum amount possible for the damages they incurred as well as for their pain and suffering. Among his most notable successes, he recently helped secure a verdict of over $4 million serving as lead attorney in a jury trial, and he has successfully argued before the Indiana Supreme Court in order to clarify issues regarding the loss of chance principle.

A 1972 graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science in education, Mr. Stein attended University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1978. That same year, the Indiana State Bar Association admitted him to practice, as did the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. He is also licensed to practice in Kentucky as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.

Active in his legal community, Mr. Stein served as vice president for the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council, and he was a member of the organization's ethics committee. He is also a former board member for the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and the Judges & Lawyers Assistance Program. Committed to his local community as well, Mr. Stein is involved in several civic and charitable organizations.
