Zach Thomas

With a focus on criminal defense, attorney Zach Thomas works with the law firm, Roth Davies LLC, at their office in Lee’s Summit in Missouri. Completing more than a decade of legal practice, he has always strived to give his clients the focused attention they deserve. A trial lawyer at heart, he has dedicated the majority of his career to criminal defense and prosecution.

A native of Johnson County, Mr. Thomas' educational journey took him to prestigious institutions, including Vanderbilt University, from where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and political science. He then returned to his hometown and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2007, where he was also a member of the Asian Law Students Association and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, among others. 

Having served as the Johnson County District Attorney for a significant number of years, Mr. Thomas has the unique ability to view cases from both perspectives, which has proven invaluable in his preparation for trials. He also boasts first-chair jury trial experience, handling a wide range of serious felony cases throughout his career. Over the years, he has honed his skills enabling him to craft successful trial tactics and strategies. His reputation as a formidable advocate in the courtroom often leads to favorable settlements for his clients, sparing them the uncertainty and risk of trial.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Thomas is an active member of several professional associations, including the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City and the Johnson County Bar Association. He also serves as the president of the Vanderbilt Alumni Association of Kansas City, further illustrating his commitment to his profession and community.
