George C. Deptula handles a variety of matters as a partner at Furman Gregory, LLC. Admitted to practice in Massachusetts since 1973, Mr. Deptula is also admitted to practice in the District of Columbia as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Supreme Court of the United States.Â
Mr. Deptula majored in government at Harvard University and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1970. He then enrolled at Boston University School of Law, and while he was there, he was an editor on the Boston University Law Review before obtaining his Juris Doctor in 1973. After graduating, Mr. Deptula moved to Washington, D.C., where he practiced public interest law for several years before returning to Massachusetts. He has been with his current firm since 2009.
In his commercial litigation practice, Mr. Deptula has represented both plaintiffs and defendants that are parties to a variety of controversies. His cases have involved construction law, environmental matters, partner and shareholder disputes, and contract breaches. In addition to his courtroom appearances, Mr. Deptula has helped many of these clients come to an accord on these issues through mediation and settlement agreement negotiations.
Mr. Deptula’s litigation experience has additionally encompassed claims of malpractice involving attorneys, medical professionals, accountants, architects, and engineers, and he has also worked on personal injury matters and cases based on employment and family law.
