A partner at the Grand Rapids office of Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, and past chair of the Family Law Practice Group, Ric Roane has practiced family law and domestic relations litigation for 31 years. "My work involves entire families," he says. "My goal is to find a resolution to the problems facing the family I'm serving. It's a less contentious approach." He specializes in divorce, non-marital domestic relationships, LGBT family issues, domestic relations mediation, arbitration and collaborative law, spousal support, child custody and support, complex business valuation distribution and pre- and post-nuptial agreements. His clients have included health care professionals, business executives, professional athletes and teachers.

As an undergraduate, Ric attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he majored in international business and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1982. He then enrolled at Whittier Law School in California and obtained his Juris Doctor in 1986. Ric is admitted to practice before all Michigan state courts.

Throughout his distinguished career, Ric has received many accolades from his fellow professionals. The holder of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, he has also been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America each year since 2009. Ric has had several articles on family law topics appear in such publications as the Michigan Family Law Journal and the Michigan Bar Journal.
