She is the president and majority shareholder of Berens & Miller, P.A., in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and serves residents and businesses across the surrounding region.

After graduating with her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1975, Ms. Berens pursued higher studies at the University of St. Thomas, earning her Master of Science degree in 1985. With a passion for law, she attended the University of Minnesota Law School, where she served as the managing editor for the Minnesota Law Review and was the recipient of the Charles E. Nadler Award. Prior to receiving her Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 1990, she was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

Ms. Berens became licensed to practice law in Minnesota the same year she graduated from law school, and she went on to be admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.
