June is a partner at Zimmerman Reed and Co-Chair of the Public Client & AG practice. June’s practice focuses on representing governmental entities, businesses, and individuals who have experienced losses due to antitrust violations, and consumer and financial fraud.

Highlights of her recent experience include:

Currently represents Minnesota in its litigation against e-cigarette manufacturer, JUUL, for deceptive marketing and targeting Minnesota’s youth.

Currently represents Indiana and Vermont in their investigations into and litigation against entities responsible for the deceptive marketing, sale, and distribution of opioids.

Currently represents Minnesota cities in litigation against manufacturers over contamination of stormwater ponds caused by coal-tar based sealants containing carcinogenic PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons).

Currently represents Mississippi in litigation against Navient and Sallie Mae Bank, alleging deceptive and unfair lending practices in the origination and servicing of student loans directed at the State’s student loan borrowers.

Interim Co-Lead Counsel in an action against fiduciaries of U.S. Bancorp Pension Plan for violations of ERISA. The case is awaiting a decision from the U.S. Supreme Court on the issue of the plan participants’ Article III standing.Co-led the legal team representing New Mexico in litigation against Visa and MasterCard. Presented oral arguments on defendants’ motion to dismiss.Represented Mississippi in an antitrust case against LCD screen manufacturers, which culminated in a 9-0 decision from the U.S. Supreme Court on a question of removability of a parens patriae action. Presented oral arguments on defendants’ motions to dismiss.

Led the legal teams that secured settlements totaling $26.5 million in Telephone Consumer Protection Act cases (Soular v. Northern Tier Energy; Lennartson v. Papa Murphy’s Holdings, Inc.). Successfully briefed and argued dispositive motions.

Member of the trial team representing the City of Farmington Hills pension fund in litigation relating to Wells Fargo’s securities lending program. Reached $62.5 million settlement two days prior to trial.

Prior to joining the firm, June served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Arthur J. Boylan, Chief Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. She gained substantial experience following law school working at Fulbright & Jaworski in Washington, D.C. and Gray Plant Mooty in Minneapolis, practicing in diverse subject areas including contract disputes, franchise, products liability, insurance, and employment law.

June currently serves on: the Board of Directors for The Fund for Legal Aid; the Advisory Board for the Minnesota Urban Debate League; the Antitrust Council for the Minnesota State Bar Association; and the Publications Committee for the Bench & Bar of Minnesota.

June graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2003, where she was the Lead Managing Editor for the Minnesota Law Review and a member of the Dean’s List. She is admitted to the state courts of Minnesota and the U.S. District Courts for the District of Minnesota. June was selected as a Rising Star of Law in 2007, 2015-2018.
