J. Randall Jones

Focusing his practice on complex civil litigation, J. Randall Jones is a member of Kemp Jones, LLP. From the firm’s offices in Las Vegas, Nevada, he provides advocacy on behalf of people and businesses throughout the greater metropolitan area. Admitted to practice in Nevada since 1981, Mr. Jones is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has received a great deal of recognition from his colleagues for his successful track record, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. In addition, Mr. Jones was named Trial Lawyer of the Year for 1998 by what was then known as the Nevada Justice Association, and he has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.

During his distinguished career, Mr. Jones has tried dozens of cases to jury verdict, and he has been able to obtain hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation for his clients through both jury awards and negotiated settlements. His caseload has included class actions, personal injury and wrongful death litigation, construction defects and real estate disputes. In one notable case, Mr. Jones represented plaintiffs in litigation stemming from the 1980 MGM Grand hotel fire, and, in another, he prevailed in a class action involving brass plumbing fittings, which at that time was the largest class action that had ever been tried in the state.

A native of Las Vegas, Mr. Jones attended the University of Nevada, Reno, as an undergraduate and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1978. He then pursued his legal education at California Western School of Law, and in 1981, he was awarded his Juris Doctor. Mr. Jones is a member of several legal organizations.
