Kenneth C. Bartholomew

Kenneth Bartholomew has been practicing law at Rath, Young and Pignatelli since 1997 and has been a shareholder since 2002.  He is Chairperson of the Health Care Law Practice Group since 2013.  Ken has extensive experience in health care law regulatory work and has represented hospitals, doctors, nurses, ASCs, FQHCs and other health care clinics and providers in matters related to licensure, Certificate of Need, OIG and data breach investigations, Department of Justice and Attorney General investigations, CMS certification disputes and professional licensure board matters.  In the transactional arena, Ken has represented hospitals, physicians’ practices and other providers on issues including affiliation and collaboration arrangements, physician contracting, fraud and abuse and privacy and security regulations.  He also advises clients on insurance and labor and employment issues, as well as defending health care providers in litigation.  Ken is a member of his firm’s Labor and Employment, Litigation and the Education and Non-Profit Law groups as well.

Ken is a long-time member of the American Health Lawyers Association and is on the Subcommittee on Health and Information Technology.  He has also served as the co-chair of the Health Law Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association and is a former member of the New Hampshire Endowment for Health Advisory Council.

Ken serves as the chairperson of the Kearsarge Regional District School Board, which is a cooperative regional school district of seven towns in rural New Hampshire.  He has been a school board member since 2009.

Prior to coming to the firm, Ken served as a law clerk for the Honorable Paul J. Barbadoro, chief judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire. Ken was graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law and Brown University.
