An attorney at Matthew R. Abatemarco, Esq. LLC, Gregory Thomlison focuses his practice exclusively on family law matters. Working out of the firm's office in Wall, New Jersey, he furnishes astute representation to people throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties. Mr. Thomlison joined the firm in October 2018, and he is admitted to practice before all New Jersey state courts.
A large portion of Mr. Thomlison's caseload consists of providing advice and counsel to clients whose marriages are coming to an end. In that regard, he helps them deal with such divorce-related issues as the division of marital assets and debts, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. Mr. Thomlison's background in mediation and collaborative law often allows him to help his clients reach an accord on some of these matters through the use of those alternative dispute resolution methods, but he is a forceful advocate on their behalf when litigation is necessary. In addition to his divorce practice, his family law experience has included helping clients who are seeking to expand their families through adoptions.
Mr. Thomlison attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where he majored in criminal justice and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2004. He then went on to pursue his legal education at the Camden branch of Rutgers Law School. While he was there, Mr. Thomlison participated in the school's Domestic Violence Clinic before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 2008. After graduation, he clerked for the Presiding Judge of the Family Part in Burlington County (later assigned to the Family Part of Ocean County) before entering private practice. Mr. Thomlison has delivered presentations on child support and other family law topics to fellow members of the Ocean County Bar Association, including judges.
