Jay A. Gervasi, Jr.

As the founder of Jay Gervasi P.A., Mr. Gervasi is committed to representing clients in Greensboro, North Carolina and its surrounding areas. He focuses his practice on all kinds of injuries arising from personal injury and workers' compensation cases, including those involving truck accidents, construction accidents, trench cave-ins, car accidents, occupational diseases, asbestos exposure, motorcycle accidents, slip-and-falls, premises liability, dog bites, injuries in hospitals and schools, and factory accidents.

After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in zoology from Duke University in 1980, Mr. Gervasi spent several years working as a medical research technician. He then went on to receive a law degree from Vanderbilt Law School in 1986, where he graduated in the top 15 percent of his class.

Mr. Gervasi spent the first four years of his career defending clients against personal injury and workers' compensation claims. Since 1990, he has brought that perspective, along with more than 30 years in the legal field, to his practice today, advocating on behalf of people who suffer injuries at work or due to someone else's negligence. Having represented hundreds of people with serious injuries, Mr. Gervasi understands that one key to securing a favorable outcome is maintaining open communication with his clients. For his successes, he has been named in The Best Lawyers in America*, and The North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization has certified Mr. Gervasi in workers' compensation.  He has also been elected a Fellow of The College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers, a national honorary group. 

His passion for helping others does not stop once he leaves the office, as Mr. Gervasi also commits time and resources to protect injured people through the political process. He has written several amicus curiae briefs and has assisted other attorneys in matters before the North Carolina Industrial Commission and appellate courts.  Additionally, he has shared his legal experience with others through numerous seminar presentations.

Mr. Gervasi is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Section, the American Association for Justice, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and the Workers' Injury Law & Advocacy Group.  He served as Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers (now NC Advocates for Justice) in 2003-2004, and has been a member of the Executive Committte of that section since then.  He has also been, for several years, a co-chair of the Amicus Curiae committee of that section.
